    Soft or hard skateboard wheels

Wheels have two main variables. First, the diameter and second, the hardness. Depending on the surface, we recommend different wheels.

    Diameter

The diameter of skate wheels is expressed in millimeters. The larger the wheels are, the more likely it is to hit the deck and cause wheelbite. Therefore, it is also important to match the diameter of the wheels with the truck height. Low trucks go best with wheels 46mm to 49mm in diameter. Mid trucks are often combined with a wheel diameter of 50mm to 53mm. Tall trucks go together a wheel diameter of 54mm to 58mm.

In addition, diameter is also associated with speed. When you want to maintain your speed with your skateboard for a long time, large wheels are more interesting. On the other hand, small wheels are better for short and fast accelerations.

    Hardness

Besides the diameter, the hardness or durometer, expressed in A, is also an important factor. The higher da A value, the harder the wheels. Hard wheels, with a high A-value, have little grip and are good for sliding. In contrast, soft wheels, with a low A-value, have more grip and thus are less good for sliding.

    - 85A : Very soft wheels for filming and long distances.
85A - 95A : Soft wheels recommended for rough surfaces.
95A - 103A : Hard to very hard wheels for smooth surfaces
